MEET YOUR THERAPIST
Sara Sharp, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Laid-back, flexible therapy supporting mood concerns and grief.
Meet Sara
Hi, I’m Sara! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and I believe therapy works best when it doesn’t feel like a stiff, awkward interview.
Life can get heavy. Sometimes you need a space to unpack everything you’re carrying, and sometimes a little humor makes those difficult conversations easier. I bring a relaxed, flexible approach to therapy because I want you to feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are.
I work with adults and older adults experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I also support individuals, couples, and families as they work through difficult emotions, strengthen relationships, and find healthier ways to move forward.
My Approach to Therapy
My first job is to listen. Really listen.
I want to understand where you’re coming from, what you’ve experienced, and what you actually need from our time together. I don’t believe in treating people like a collection of symptoms or reducing their experiences to a diagnosis.
I take a person-centered, flexible approach that allows us to figure out what works best for you. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other evidence-based approaches.
I’m also a big believer in meeting people where they are. You don’t need to have the right words, know exactly what you want to work on, or have everything figured out before coming to therapy.
We’ll take things at a pace that makes sense for you.
Working Through Grief, Trauma & Mood Challenges
Some of the experiences I most often help clients work through are grief, trauma, and mood-related challenges.
Grief can show up in many ways. It might follow the loss of someone you love, a major life change, or an experience that left you feeling like things will never quite be the same. Sometimes that grief is recent. Other times, it’s something you’ve been carrying for years.
I also work with people experiencing depression, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and trauma-related concerns. Together, we can explore how those experiences affect your thoughts, relationships, and daily life while developing ways to manage difficult emotions and move toward greater stability.
My goal isn’t to rush you through what you’re experiencing. It’s to provide the support, understanding, and practical tools you need as you work through it.
A Space Where You Can Be Yourself
I welcome people from all backgrounds, identities, and spiritual beliefs.
Your experiences, values, and beliefs are an important part of who you are, and I believe they deserve to be respected in therapy. You shouldn’t have to leave any part of yourself at the door to feel accepted or understood.
I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable speaking openly, exploring difficult topics, and knowing you’re being treated as a whole person.
I also believe that therapy can be serious without feeling serious every second. Humor, authenticity, and genuine human connection are all welcome here.
A Little More About Me
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading, exercising, and spending quality time with my friends and family.
I value the importance of connection, balance, and making time for the things that bring joy to everyday life.
If you’re thinking about starting therapy, you don’t need to know exactly where to begin. Come as you are, and we’ll figure out the next step together.
