Counseling for Kids and Teens
Helping Your Child Feel Like Themselves Again
As a parent, it’s hard to watch your child struggle. Maybe they’ve become withdrawn, moody, or anxious. Maybe there are more meltdowns, slammed doors, or silence at the dinner table. Or maybe you just have a gut feeling that something isn’t right.
Trust that feeling. Kids and teens go through a lot, and sometimes they need someone outside the family to talk to. Our therapists create a safe, supportive space where young people can open up, make sense of big emotions, and learn skills they’ll carry with them for life.
We work with kids and teens ages 5 to 18, meeting each child where they are in their growth and development.
We can help with
- Anxiety and worry
- Sadness, irritability, or mood changes
- Big emotions and meltdowns
- School stress, falling grades, or not wanting to go to school
- Friendship problems and bullying
- Low self-esteem and body image concerns
- Family changes like divorce, a move, or a loss
- Changes in behavior that have you worried
For kids
Kids don’t always have the words to explain what they’re feeling, and that’s okay. Our therapists use play, art, games, and other kid-friendly approaches to help children express themselves in ways that feel natural and fun. Along the way, they learn how to name their feelings, calm their bodies, and handle big emotions with more confidence. Therapy for kids isn’t about sitting on a couch and talking. It’s about building skills in a way that makes sense for them.
For teens
We talk with teens, not at them. Our therapists get that teens want to be taken seriously, and we meet them where they are with respect, honesty, and maybe even a little humor.
Where parents fit in
You know your child best, so you’re an important part of the process. We’ll keep you involved in your child’s goals and progress, and we’ll give you tools to support them at home. At the same time, we protect the trust your child builds with their therapist, because that trust is what makes therapy work.
Let’s get your child the support they need
You don’t have to have all the answers. That’s what we’re here for!
