Patient, calming support with a special passion for children and adolescents.

Meet Bethann

Hi, I’m Bethann! I’m a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern (RCSWI), and I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel seen, heard, and valued without judgment.

My approach to therapy is patient, compassionate, and grounded in genuine connection. I want clients to feel comfortable exploring their experiences, asking questions, and working through challenges at a pace that feels right for them.

I work with children, preteens, teens, and adults, with a particular passion for supporting young people as they develop a better understanding of themselves and learn how to manage difficult emotions.

I also have experience supporting individuals and families through trauma, anxiety, grief, emotional regulation challenges, and difficult life circumstances.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe meaningful therapeutic progress begins with trust and understanding.

Before we focus on changing patterns or developing new skills, I want to get to know you, understand your experiences, and learn what matters most to you.

My therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed techniques. I also use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) when appropriate for a client’s needs.

These approaches allow us to explore how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and past experiences may influence the challenges you’re facing today.

I enjoy helping clients recognize unhelpful patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and build the confidence to approach difficult situations differently.

I don’t believe therapy should feel rushed or pressured. We’ll work collaboratively to identify goals and take manageable steps toward meaningful progress.

Supporting Children, Teens & Families

Working with children and adolescents is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

Young people experience many of the same difficult emotions as adults, but they may not always have the words or tools to express what they’re feeling.

I strive to create an environment where children and teens feel comfortable opening up, exploring their emotions, and developing healthier ways to manage challenges.

My work may include helping young clients strengthen emotional regulation skills, understand difficult feelings, develop coping strategies, and build greater confidence in themselves.

I also recognize that family relationships, school experiences, and life transitions can play important roles in a young person’s mental health.

My professional background includes family advocacy, behavioral health, and supporting families through complex circumstances. These experiences have helped shape my understanding of the importance of compassionate, individualized care.

Trauma-Informed Care & Emotional Healing

Difficult experiences can influence the way we think, feel, and relate to the world around us.

Sometimes those experiences show up as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, avoidance, or patterns that are difficult to understand or change.

I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy, recognizing that safety, trust, and emotional support are essential when exploring painful experiences.

I have experience supporting individuals through mental health crises, grief, and challenging life circumstances. My professional work has included crisis intervention, safety planning, psychosocial assessments, and helping clients develop strategies for emotional regulation.

I also incorporate EMDR when clinically appropriate to help clients process distressing experiences.

My goal is to create a supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences with compassion while developing practical tools that support lasting growth.

Creating a Safe & Inclusive Space

I welcome clients from diverse cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

I recognize that each person’s experiences, beliefs, identity, and circumstances can shape the way they approach mental health and therapy.

My goal is to provide culturally sensitive, respectful care where clients feel comfortable being themselves.

I believe everyone has strengths worth recognizing, even during periods when those strengths may feel difficult to see.

One of my greatest passions as a therapist is helping people recognize their resilience, develop confidence, and feel genuinely understood.

My Background & Experience

My professional background includes outpatient psychotherapy, family advocacy, hospice-related social work, and supporting individuals and families through complex emotional and practical challenges.

As a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, I provide therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and adults using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.

My experience includes conducting psychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, supporting clients through crises, coordinating care, and helping individuals build coping and emotional regulation skills.

I have also completed EMDR training to expand the therapeutic approaches I can offer when appropriate.

Throughout my work, I remain committed to helping clients feel supported, respected, and capable of meaningful personal growth.

A Little More About Me

Outside of the therapy room, I love cheering on college football, especially the USF Bulls!

I also enjoy spending time at the beach and getting lost in a good book.

I value the opportunity to slow down, recharge, and appreciate the things that bring balance to everyday life.

I try to bring that same sense of patience, warmth, and genuine connection into my work with clients.

Above all, I want people to leave therapy feeling more understood, more confident in themselves, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges.
